Shepard Fairey, Retna & Kenny Scharf are keeping themselves very busy. As an extension of 'ART IN THE STREET' an exhibition about the history of graffiti & street art, these artists will be displaying their works on the walls of the new public library in West Hollywood. The outdoor murals are a joint project by the artists, the city of West Hollywood, and the Museum of Contemporary Art. Jeffrey Dietch the director of the MOCA had worked with them for 'Art In The Street' & thought their talents would be perfect for the space. Check out Shepard Fairey's almost completed mural.
|"Calm down taxpayers … I was not paid to do the mural and paid for my own supplies and labor," the artist wrote on his site.|
OBEY was however commissioned to do some pieces inside. To see Kenny Scharf or Retna's murals peep THIS.
